Each custom-printed hardcover literary biography or children’s novel carries the mission of inspiring wisdom and nourishing the soul. It is not merely a container of words, but a window for children to explore the world and encounter role models. Behind it lies meticulous craftsmanship throughout the entire process, from size customization to binding and material selection, all serving the core goal of “benefiting children’s reading growth.”
First, there is the flexibility of freely customizable size. Children of different ages have different needs regarding book size, weight, and format. We offer a complete selection, from portable 32mo books easy for small hands to hold in lower grades, to richly illustrated 16mo reading books for higher grades, and even irregularly shaped books. Considering children’s reading habits, we can also customize large font sizes and wide line spacing to reduce eye strain and make every turn of the book easy and comfortable.
A hardcover cover is a hallmark of hardcover books. We use high-density gray board as the cover lining, which is thick, sturdy, and does not deform, effectively protecting the inner pages from damage, suitable for high-frequency borrowing scenarios such as school libraries and home bookshelves. The outer layer of the grey board is wrapped in high-quality specialty paper, linen, or PU leather, offering a warm touch and rich colors. Then comes the cover hot stamping process—using heated copper type and electroplated aluminum foil, the book title, author’s name, or decorative patterns are precisely imprinted onto the cover. The hot stamping has clear edges and a long-lasting shine; whether it’s elegant gold lettering or shimmering star icons, it instantly enhances the book’s sophistication and sense of occasion, making children want to collect it at first glance.
The manufacturing of the inner pages is the core of the process. We select high-quality, environmentally friendly paper—typically 80-100g high-quality offset paper or pure paper, certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) to ensure sustainable paper sourcing. The ink is made with soybean-based environmentally friendly ink, odorless, and free of heavy metals and other harmful substances, ensuring no health impact even after prolonged reading. The paper surface undergoes special treatment to be non-reflective and non-glaring, with soft tones (beige or milky white) to effectively protect children’s eyesight.
Four-color printing transforms each page into a vibrant picture. Through the precise overlay of four halftone dots—cyan, magenta, yellow, and black—portraits of historical figures in literary biographies and illustrations of fantastical scenes in children’s novels are presented with clarity, sharpness, and realistic color reproduction. There is no ghosting at the edges of the text and images, and the text is full and substantial, making even complex double-page spreads or intricate line drawings easily readable. Large font size, reasonable line spacing, and ample white space further lower the reading threshold and promote student reading development.
The binding method uses perfect binding with sewn stitching. This is the most durable binding method for hardcover books—all inner pages are first sewn together (each page is stitched into a sturdy core with cotton thread), and then reinforced a second time with hot melt glue to the spine. Perfect binding with sewn stitching makes the spine smooth and flat, allowing the book to lay completely flat at 180 degrees, making it convenient for children to read on a desk while referring to illustrations or taking notes; it is also extremely resistant to folding, and will not fall out or crack even after years of repeated use.
