Hybrid Ink Technology
Due to the unsuitability of UV printing or UV glazing on highly absorbent printing materials, which results in poor adhesion of the ink surface, most applications necessitate online UV glazing. Utilizing only UV inks for all printing processes inevitably leads to increased costs. Conversely, when conventional inks are employed, lamination or full varnishing is required prior to glazing, thereby hindering the application of online varnishing in offset printing. The hybrid ink technology effectively addresses this bottleneck by integrating the benefits of both UV and traditional inks—specifically their light curing and oxidative polymerization properties—as well as drying capabilities. This innovation enhances the synergistic interaction between the ink surface and UV varnish, facilitating online glazing in offset printing.
Reverse Lighting
Reverse glazing (Pro-Cure) offers a distinct advantage over traditional partial glazing methods. In conventional practices—such as flexographic printing, screen printing, or gravure printing—local glazing requires a specific plate for achieving high-contrast effects in localized graphics and text. Consequently, maintaining precise registration during overprinting becomes critical to successful craftsmanship in glazing applications. The reverse glazing process transcends these limitations by resolving registration challenges.
Online UV Varnishing
While online varnishing has become an established technology within flexographic and gravure printing sectors, its introduction into offset printing—a field characterized by extensive applicability alongside high precision and speed—is driven by demands for differentiation and value-added services through innovative glazing technologies. There are four primary forms of online UV varnishing that have been implemented: ordinary ink combined with double glazing (water-based glaze + UV glaze); mixed ink paired with UV glaze; pure UV ink used with UV glaze; and finally, a combination of UV ink with OP oil followed by reverse ultraviolet gluing.
