Choice of notebook paper
There are many common types of notebook paper, each with its own unique characteristics and uses. Here are some common types of notebook paper:
Writing paper:
This is the most common and basic type of notebook paper, suitable for daily writing, notes, study, etc. It has a certain ink absorption to ensure writing smoothness and clarity.
Woodfree paper:
This is a more advanced writing paper, usually used to make high-quality notebooks. It has a high level of whiteness and glossiness, as well as excellent ink absorption and writing feel.
Art paper:
also known as coated paper, is coated with a layer of inorganic coating and super calendered. It has a smooth surface and bright colors, and it is often used to print covers or notebook pages that require special printing effects.
Sketch paper:
Designed for sketching and painting, its surface features a specific texture or roughness, enabling drawing tools like pencils or charcoal pencils to create rich layers and effects. Art notebooks often utilize sketch paper.
Loose-leaf paper:
Often used in loose-leaf notebooks, binders can freely combine and replace this type of paper as needed. There are also many types of loose-leaf paper, including ordinary writing paper, dolly paper, punched paper, etc.
Acid-free paper:
This specially treated paper can withstand long-term storage without yellowing or damage. Notebooks that need to preserve materials for a long time, such as archives and ancient books, often use acid-free paper.
Wood-free paper:
Tree-free paper does not contain wood. It is made of chemical pulp and is not physically sucked like traditional paper. This kind of paper will not turn yellow over time.
Recycled paper:
Made from recycled waste paper, recycled paper is environmentally friendly. Although its texture and performance may be slightly inferior to virgin paper, more and more notebooks are starting to use recycled paper to reduce the environmental burden.
Note that different notebook brands and manufacturers may use different types of notebook paper to cater to the needs and preferences of different users. Therefore, when choosing a notebook, in addition to considering the type of paper, you also need to pay attention to factors such as the texture, thickness, and ink absorption of the paper.
All of the paper used by Prolead is FSC certified.
Suitable Ink for notebooks
SOYBEAN OIL INK is a truly applicable, environmentally friendly ink. Its rich output, safe and reliable performance, good printing effect, compliance with various ink standards, and exceptional environmental friendliness make it an excellent choice for notebook paper printing. Soybean ink has bright color, high concentration, good gloss, good water adaptability and stability, friction resistance, drying resistance, and other properties. It is not dirty, has no irritating odor, is light and heat-resistant, and is easier to recycle.
The printing of children’s books, notebooks, notepads, desk calendars, and other books and periodicals frequently uses soybean ink.
Environmentally friendly soybean ink is a sustainable printing ink. The raw materials used in its manufacturing process mainly come from soybean plants. The following are the advantages that environmentally friendly soybean ink offers for environmental protection:
Reduce fossil fuel consumption: Compared with the use of petroleum-based inks, environmentally friendly soy inks use soybean oil as the main ingredient, reducing the demand for limited petroleum resources, thereby reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.
Reduced Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Emissions: Environmentally friendly soy inks produce lower emissions of volatile organic compounds during the manufacturing and printing process, which can significantly reduce air pollution.
Use of renewable materials: Soybeans are a renewable plant resource, and growing soybeans contributes to carbon balance and soil protection, thereby promoting sustainable agriculture and protecting biodiversity.
Biodegradability: Environmentally friendly soy inks generally have good biodegradability and can quickly decompose in the natural environment, reducing pollution to soil and water sources and reducing pressure on landfills.
As a pioneer in the printing industry and a socially responsible factory, Prolead has long adhered to the concept of green printing and has been printing with soy ink since its establishment.
Prolead’s commitment to consumers and society:
- Protect forest ecosystems
- Reduce carbon emissions
- Reduce air pollution
- Improve degradability and reduce waste
Suitable leather for notebooks
In various productions, leather has become an indispensable material. There are two types of leather: genuine leather and imitation leather.
Genuine leather: This term refers to natural leather that has undergone chemical treatment. We divide genuine leather into three categories: first-layer leather, second-layer leather, and composite cowhide. The top layer of skin has the most dense fibrous tissue, the best durability and breathability, and therefore the highest value. The top layer of leather retains its natural grain and scars, and its value depends on the surface’s perfection.
Imitation leather: It is artificial leather, with PU and PVC as the main materials, imitating the texture and appearance of natural leather. Although modern technology can produce imitation leather that is similar to real leather, its feel and elasticity are still not as satisfactory as real leather.
Leather, with its unique texture and beauty, often serves as a cover in the notebook production process, enhancing the overall grade of the notebook. Guangzhou, the leather capital of China, has a large number of high-quality leather wholesale markets. Does your notebook need what kind of leather and craftsmanship?
